Megapixels
Read your manual, and find what the number of “megapixels” at which your camera is rated. It must be rated at a minimum of 2 megapixels.
Less is more
Prior to taking the pictures you plan to submit, set your camera for the fewest number of photos, which will give you a higher resolution suitable for print.
More is better
Digital cameras come with a small memory card to get you started. Plan on making a purchase of a larger card that will enable you to take more photos at a larger resolution (use the original card as a backup).
Scanning
Please scan photographs at 300 dpi and save them as a JPEG.
JPEGs only
The photos should be in JPEG format, and they should not be converted to any other digital photographic format.
No retouching
Don’t do any cropping, resizing, or color adjustment of the photo you are submitting. If you want something retouched or corrected, please include those instructions in the email to us, along with the jpeg.
