Alzheimer’s Iron Pour

THE ALZHEMIERS IRON PROJECT is an exciting new student-run initiative.

Please join them at the National Casting Center Foundry for a Cupola Iron Pour, where sculptures are being produced to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association!

The Sculptures being cast in iron are a part of the Alzheimer’s Iron Project where ‘Fading Memories become Eternal Artworks’. The Alzheimer’s Iron Project is a multi-step, cross-generational art project that will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. The project is made up of three steps: production of artwork by elderly community members, interpretation of these works and rendered sculptures by iron castors, and a gallery show featuring the artworks

2/23 M. Lacrosse HOME vs. SUNY IT - 1pm

The Men’s Lacrosse team will play at home against SUNY-IT with a 1pm start time.

2/23 M. Tennis AWAY @ Olean - 1pm

- Location: Indoor Tennis Facility, Olean, NY
(1:00 PM - 6:00 PM)
Men’s Tennis will meet Pitt-Brad and Penn St.-Behrend in Olean. Play begins at 1pm.

Alfred Montessori Multicultural Event

- Location: Alfred Montessori School - Main Street Alfred
(3:00 PM - 6:00 PM)
DATE: Saturday, Feb. 23
TIME: 3-6 p.m.
LOCATION: The Alfred Montessori School (located on Main Street, next to the children’s park)
COST: $2 per person

The goal of the event is to celebrate the variety of cultures that make up our community. Student organizations from Alfred University and Alfred State College, as well as community members, will be sharing aspects of their culture, via ethnic cuisine, performances, and craft projects, etc.

Pirate Theater

- Location: Holmes Auditorium
(6:00 PM - 9:00 PM)
Saturday Feb. 23, Pirate Theater is putting on a sketch comedy show in Holmes auditorium at 6 p.m.

An Evening of Dance

- Location: The Miller Performing Arts Center
(8:00 PM - 9:45 PM)
Original choreography by AU faculty D. Chase Angier & Rose Pasquarello Beauchamp; AU students Julie Verdone, Nathan Abel, Brian Pierce, and Sunny Cho; and Guest Artist Brian Brooks will be performed by AU students. Brooks has created a new work on 14 AU students during his Marlin and Ginger Miller Dance Residency.

The evening will include a variety of dynamic dance styles that include modern, contemporary, dance theater, and tap.

Admission is $5 for general audience and $1 for students. Please reserve your tickets by emailing

Comedy: Cy Amundson

- Location: Knight Club
(10:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
Cy Amundson has quickly established himself as one of the nation’s fastest rising stand-up comedians. He was a standout performer as a New Face at last summer’s Montreal Just for Laughs Festival and recently made his television debut on Conan.

2/20-23 - Swim @ Ithaca

- Location: Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY
(All Day)
The Swim team will be away for the Empire 8/UNYSCSA. This multi day event will be held at Ithaca College.

2/22 & 23 - Track AWAY at Ithaca

- Location: Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY
(All Day)
Indoor Track will be away at Ithaca College for the NYSCTC, a two day event.
