Engineering Career Fair

Bergren Forum: John D’Angelo — ’Scientific Misconduct’

The Bergren Forum sponsored by the Division of Human Studies will be meeting at 12:10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1 in the Nevins Theatre, Powell Campus Center.

Topic: "Scientific Misconduct: Ethical violations in science and a discussion of some real cases"
Scientific miscounduct has been an increasingly imporant issue for several years. For example, the American Chermical Society mandates that all accredited programs incorporate ethics instruction into their curricula. During this forum, many of the various incarnations of scientific miscounduct will be discussed. After this discussion, with time permitting, as many real cases as time will permit will be discussed. In particular, the Watson and Crick DNA case.
