SUNY Lifesaver CPR-AED Training

Howell Hall - Upstairs

Limit: 6 participants per session
Fee: Students - $7 to cover the cost of the face mask; the course is free to all faculty and staff.

If you already have a face mask, bring it to the session. You may also wish to bring a pillow or blanket to kneel on.

We are inviting volunteers to attend and become certified in adult and child CPR and AED use. If you have already taken the course, now is a good time to recertify and refresh your skills.

This program is designed to comply with enactment of the state’s AED Legislation and to train University faculty, staff, and students in the skills of CPR and use of an AED.

This CPR/AED certification program has been approved by the NYS Department of Health. It is the equivalent to the American Red Cross and American Heart Association CPR/ AED programs.

Environmental Studies Seminar: ’Vernal Pools’

“The Vanishing Act of Vernal Pools and their Amphibian Inhabitants” Jim Julian, Biology Instructor, Penn State University, Altoona, and AU Class of 1995.

Jim has spent the last 12 years studying pond-breeding amphibians and the seasonal wetlands (vernal pools) they inhabit. Jim has a doctoral degree from Penn State University, where his research focused on discovering wetland and land cover characteristics that predict the presence of amphibian species, and assessing the potential impacts of losing small, isolated wetlands.

Please join us to hear more about this interesting work! All are welcome, and refreshments will be served.

The sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry kicks off with a bang for young Harry Potter when he inadvertently discovers a mysterious book that sheds light on the sordid life of the evil Lord Voldemort.

Comedian Erin Jackson
- Location: Knight Club, Powell Campus Center

Erin Jackson has garnered national attention with performances on "The Ellen DdGeneres Show" and Comedy Central’s "Live at Gotham." She was a semifinalist on NBC’s "Last Comic Standing," and was a featured writer and performer for TBS’s "Bitcom Series."

Erin will be appearing this fall on TBS’ new late night comedy series "The Very Funny Show."
