Extreme Makeover Volunteer Shares Experience
- Location: Nevins Theater, PCC

Nancy Banker, part of the Center for Student Involvement team, joined a different team last week as she volunteered in Buffalo for the "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." She will be sharing her experience on Wednesday, Nov. 18 in Nevins Theater at noon. Come find out how they really "move that bus!"

SUNY Lifesaver CPR-AED Training

Limit: 6 participants per session
Fee: Students - $7 to cover the cost of the face mask; the course is free to all faculty and staff.

If you already have a face mask, bring it to the session. You may also wish to bring a pillow or blanket to kneel on.

We are inviting volunteers to attend and become certified in adult and child CPR and AED use. If you have already taken the course, now is a good time to recertify and refresh your skills.

This program is designed to comply with enactment of the State’s AED Legislation and to train University faculty, staff, and students in the skills of CPR and use of an AED.

This CPR/AED certification program has been approved by the NYS Department of Health. It is the equivalent to the American Red Cross and American Heart Association CPR/ AED programs.

Sit Still and Breathe: Meditation in Powell.
- Location: Board Room, 2nd floor of Powell
(4:30 PM - 5:15 PM)
All students, staff, and faculty are invited to meditation on Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. We will meet in the Board Room off the Alumni Lounge, second floor of the Powell Campus Center, every week for the rest of the semester (except the Thanksgiving break).

Beginners are welcome; please arrive promptly by 4:30 for basic instructions. The doors will close and meditation will begin at 4:45 sharp.

Experienced meditators, please be seated by 4:45. Led by Wakoh Shannon Hickey, Assistant Professor of Religious Studies and a Zen priest.

Giving Thanks, Giving Back Dinner
- Location: Ade Dining Hall

Join us at Ade Dining Hall on Wednesday, November 18 from 5:30-8:30 for the Annual Giving Thanks, Giving Back Dinner.

Students who bring in one non-perishable food item will receive a chance to win a $100 American Express Gift Card.

Faculty/Staff will receive a free dinner with a donation of two food items.

All food donated will benefit the Alfred Area Food Pantry. Last year over 450 food items were collected and donated to the Alfred Area Food Pantry.

Dining Services Food Drive

Dining Services is sponsoring a Food Drive in conjunction with our annual Giving Thanks, Giving Back Dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 18 in Ade Dining Hall. A collection box will be placed in Powell and Ade Dining Halls from Monday-Friday, Nov. 16– Friday, Nov. 20.

Faculty and Staff can enjoy a meal on us by donating two non-perishable food items during the week-long Food Drive.

Students with dining plans will receive an entry for prize drawings including a $100 American Express Gift Card for each food item donated. All food donated will benefit the Alfred Area Food Pantry. Last year over 450 food items were collected and donated to the Alfred Area Food Pantry.
