Alfred University is a friendly, vibrant living/learning community located in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains in Western New York. Founded in 1836, AU offers more than 60 academic programs and a host of clubs, organizations and recreational opportunities.

Hail to the King!
A statue of King Alfred stands in the center of campus. Students often dress him up to mark special occasions. You may see him sporting a purple shirt for orientation or a pumpkin for Halloween.
