Often families find it necessary to seek additional or alternative financial options to supplement existing resources for meeting the costs of higher education. This page provides a brief description of several alternative educational financing options available to Alfred University families. Alfred does not endorse any one program as the best source. Decisions as to which programs are most desirable for a family's needs will depend on each family's specific financial circumstances, goals, and objectives. We encourage families to review carefully all available opportunities before making a final decision.

Monthly Payment Plan:
For 2009-10, Alfred University will offer a flexible monthly payment plan coordinated by the AU Student Accounts Office. The plan is not a loan and there is no interest or finance charge. There is an annual participation fee. This program allows a family to choose a payment plan and payment options which will meet their individual needs. Families may budget all or a portion of University charges for an academic year or a semester and make monthly payments. The amount and number of the monthly payments will vary by family depending upon the amount budgeted, when the plan is initiated, and if the plan is for a semester or an academic year. The Student Accounts Office is currently restructuring the monthly payment plan and will provide the specific plan details and options available to families late in the Spring 2009.
