Our graduate programs are internationally known--US News and World Report ranks our MFA program in Ceramics the best in the US, and the Gourman Report ranks our Ceramic Engineering program #1 in the United States. Alfred University programs attract students from across the country and around the world, and earn high praise from alumni, students and employers alike.

AU's graduate school was established in 1947. Enrollment now numbers 500, or about 20% of the school's total enrollment of 2,500.

All of our graduate programs stress a high degree of interaction between students and faculty, and combine theory with practical, professional experience. Our faculty's strong academic credentials, coupled with real-world experience, provide students with the knowledge and competence necessary to succeed in today's competitive work environment.
