New York State Parks biologist to open Environmental Studies Speaker Series at Alfred University

Aaron Heminway, a New York State Parks biologist, will open the 2017-18 Environmental Studies Speakers Series at Alfred University with a talk on “NYS Parks – Public Lands and Biological Preserves.”

His talk, to be presented Friday at 12:20 p.m. in Roon Lecture Hall, Room 247 in the Science Center on the University campus, is open to the public, free of charge.  He will discuss the parks in the Allegany Region where he is assigned, and how he tries to balance the need to preserve flora and fauna while reconciling ecological integrity with development and public use.
