University welcomes back alumna Cindy DeFelice as a visiting artist

On Wednesday, Jan. 20, artist Cindy DeFelice, a member of the Alfred University class of 2002, will talk about her adventures as she tries to affect change one community at a time.

DeFelice’s presentation is part of the Visiting Artists and Speakers Series sponsored by the School of Art & Design in the NYS College of Ceramics. Admission is free to the event which begins at 4 p.m. in Nevins Theatre at Powell Campus Center on AU’s campus.

She creates site-specific public installations and performances and lectures on topics in art, education, and mental health and has been honored by the Rochester City School District for her leadership in parent engagement and student advocacy.

DeFelice is currently pursuing graduate course work in clinical psychology at the State University of New York at Brockport. She also works as a master teacher in mixed media/installation for the NYS Summer School of the Arts.

She earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in the School of Art & Design at Alfred University.
