Saxon indoor track and field teams compete at Edinboro

EDINBORO,PA– The Alfred University men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams competed Saturday at Edinboro (PA) University. There were no team scores, but several members of both AU teams had top-five performances.


Sophomore Miasia Hillman (Buffalo,NY/Hutch Tech) paced the Saxon women with a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash (8.26 seconds).


Junior Rebecca Graudons (Mayfield, NY/Mayfield) was fourth in the pole vault and fifth in the triple jump (9.8i meters); junior Corine Pettit (Strykersville, NY/Holland) was fourth in the triple jump (10.25 meters); and junior Liz DeMonte (Melville, NY/Walt Whitman) was fourth in the high jump (1.59 meters).


Junior Mykel Ferguson (Rochester,NY/Greece Olympia) led the AU men with a third-place finish in the long jump (5.90 meters).


Sophomore Nolan Rummel (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) was fifth in the 800-meter run; senior Shane Stadtmueller (Red Creek, NY/Red Creek) was fourth in the long jump (5.77 meters); and junior Isaiah Cassin (Candor, NY/Candor) was fifth in the high jump (1.90 meters).


The team of seniors Chris Lopez (Rochester, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) and Jeremy Weaver (Lancaster,PA/Lancaster Catholic), junior Eddie Potter (Lansing,NY/Lansing) and Rummel were fourth in the 4X400-meter relay (3:31.51).


The AU men’s and women’s teams are in action next on Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Empire 8 Conference championship meet, hosted by Ithaca College.
