Saxons' track and field teams compete at ECAC indoor championships
NEW YORK, NY -- The Alfred University men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed Friday and Saturday at the ECAC championships at The Armory in New York City. The AU men took 45th place with two points; the Alfred women posted no team scores.
Senior Shane Stadtmueller (Red Creek, NY/Red Creek led the Saxon men with a seventh-place finish in the heptathlon (4,399 points). Sophomore Nolan Rummel (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) was ninth in the 500-meter dash (1:07.03); junior Isaiah Cassin (Candor, NY/Candor) was 15th in the high jump (1.91 meters); and Alfred's 4X200-meter relay team took 17th (1:32.27).
Junior Liz DeMonte (Melville, NY/Walt Whitman) took 15th in the high jump (1.59 meters) and junior Rebecca Graudons (Mayfield, NY/Mayfield) was 15th in the pole vault (3.21 meters) to pace the Saxon women. Sophomore Miasia Hillimam (Buffalo, NY/Hutch Tech) was 21st in the 200-meter dash (26.53 seconds) and 34th in the 60-meter dash (8.34 seconds). AU's 4X200-meter relay team was 22nd (1:48.30).
