Women’s Lacrosse edged by Stevens, 16-3

ALFRED, NY –The Alfred University women’s lacrosse fell, 16-3, against Stevens Tech, Sunday afternoon.

Stevens controlled the game early on, establishing a 12-0 lead at halftime.  Stevens added four more goals to Alfred’s three in the second half to give them the win.          

Senior midfielder Tracie McGinnity (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili), senior midfielder Ali Garcia (Salt Lake City, UT/Judge Memorial), and sophomore attacker Atsede Scarseth (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) each netted a goal apiece for the Lady Saxons. Freshman defender Kerry Mack (Weedsport, NY/Jordan-Elbridge) picked up a team-high three ground balls.           

Sophomore Taylor Tarajos (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) went the distance in net for Alfred with four saves.

Alfred (3-3, 0-3 Empire 8) next travels to Wells College on Wednesday, April 10, at 4 p.m.
