Women’s Lacrosse downed by Ithaca, 22-3

ITHACA, NY –The Alfred University women’s lacrosse team traveled to Ithaca College and lost a 22-3 decision, Saturday afternoon.

Ithaca held a 15-2 lead at the half and built off it in the second half, outscoring Alfred 7-1.

Sophomore Taylor Tarajos (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) made a game-high eight saves throughout the full 60 minutes of the contest.

Sophomore attacker Kaitlyn Button (Cazenovia, NY) led the Lady Saxons with two goals. Senior midfielder Ali Garcia (Salt Lake City, UT/Judge Memorial) netted a goal, won four draw controls, and picked up three ground balls also.

Alfred (3-6, 0-6 Empire 8) returns home for their last Empire 8 match of the season against St. John Fisher College on Saturday, April 27, at 2 p.m.
