AU men’s lacrosse team to play in ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship tournament
ALFRED, NY — The Alfred University men’s lacrosse team will play in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Mid-Atlantic Championship tournament, the ECAC announced today.
The Saxons (7-6) are the fifth seed in the seven-team single-elimination tournament, and will play a first-round game at fourth-seeded Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA, on Wednesday, May 9, at 7 p.m.
The winner of the AU-Lebanon Valley game advances to take on top-seeded tournament host Albright College (Haverford, PA) on Saturday, May 11, at a time to be announced. Albright has a first-round bye and will host Saturday’s semifinals and Sunday's championship game.
Other teams playing in Wednesday’s first round are: second-seeded Frostburg (MD) State hosting seventh-seeded DeSales; and third-seeded Centenary (NJ) College hosting sixth-seeded SUNY Canton. The winners of the Frostburg-DeSales and Centenary-Canton games will play in Saturday’s other semifinal. The semifinal winners will play for the tournament title on Sunday, May 12, at a time to be announced.
