McNamara named ODK Leader of the Year

Kelly J. McNamara of Hurleyville, a graduate of Tri-Valley Central School, has been named Leader of the Year by the Alfred University (AU) Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK). In addition, she will be nominated for the National Leader of the Year Award.

McNamara, a communication studies major, will be a senior at the University this fall. She is a daughter of Michael and Emily McNamara.

This award, voted by AU Circle Members, is in recognition of McNamara’s outstanding service in leadership roles throughout her career as a student at AU.

In addition to serving as the AU ODK’s vice president for publicity, McNamara is also diversity director for Student Senate, a writer and editor for the Fiat Lux (the student newspaper), and a member of the Women’s Leadership Academy, the Bias Response Team, the Gary Horowitz Leadership Development Program, and the Student Advisory Council for Student Affairs.

McNamara has also served as a First Year Experience peer leader, a member of the AU Women’s Basketball Team, and an Orientation Guide director.
