Alfred University’s Larkins among two Empire 8 student-athletes nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year Award
ROCHESTER, NY – Jordyn Larkins (Rochester, NY/Harley-Allendale-Columbia), a 2013 graduate of Alfred University, where she was a standout sprinter on the women’s track and field team, is one of two student-athletes from Empire 8 Conference schools nominated for the prestigious NCAA Woman of the Year Award.
Larkins recently graduated from AU with a bachelor’s degree in communication students and Spanish. She is the former AU record-holder in the 200-meter dash and 100-meter dash and is part of teams that hold current school marks in the outdoor 4X100 relay and indoor 4X200 relay.
Nazareth College swimmer Carissa Risucci joins Larkins as the Empire 8 Conference’s nominees for NCAA Woman of the Year. Larkins and Risucci will now be forwarded to the national NCAA Woman of the Year selection committee. The committee will choose the top ten nominees in each division (I, II and III). From among those 30 honorees, the selection committee will determine the top three in each division. From those nine, the 2013 NCAA Woman of the Year will be chosen.
