Contemporary Chinese printmaking displayed in Fosdick-Nelson Gallery
Alfred University (AU) is hosting “Open Press – Contemporary Chinese Printmaking” in the Fosdick-Nelson Gallery now through Friday, Oct. 11, 2013.
The exhibition, featuring work from artists active in the field of printmaking, was curated by Ziaowen Chen, AU professor of printmaking. Pieces by Chen Haiyan, Chi Peng, Fan Min, Guo Jun, Huang Yian, Jiang Lu, Kang Jianfei, Li Yuzhi, Li Jun, Su Xinping, Xiang Jing, Xu Bing, Yang Hongwei, Yang Feng, and Zhang Yifan are represented in the show.
Chen earned a master of fine arts degree from Illinois State University. He has had his own work exhibited at the China National Museum of Art, Beijing; the Indiana Museum of Art and Science, Evanston; the Albright-Knox Museum, Buffalo; the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, Ithaca; the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn; and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Santa Barbara, CA.
The Fosdick-Nelson Gallery is open Monday-Friday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and 1 p.m.-3 p.m. on weekends with the exception of University holidays. Call 607.871.2149 for more information.
