Third annual Horse to Holler event Sept. 28
On Saturday, Sept. 28, Alfred University’s (AU) W.I.L.D. (Wilderness Immersion Learning and Discovery) about Alfred Committee will hold its third annual Horse to Holler trail hike, a seven-mile nature trek from the Bromeley-Daggett Equestrian Center to Pollywog Holler, at 10 a.m.; check-in begins at 9 a.m. Campus and community members are welcome.
Pre- registration for the hike is required. Registration cost is $10 for students and $20 for community members. This year’s proceeds will benefit the Cure Childhood Cancer Association and AU Outdoor Programming. Visit www.alfred.edu/students/wild and follow the “Horse to Holler” link to register.
The Horse to Holler trail will end at Pollywog Holler, a local eco-resort. There, participants will be treated to wood-fired pizza and refreshments. Hikers will also find two aid stations, a s’more station, giveaways, and door prizes along the trail.
The event schedule is as follows:
9 - 9:45 a.m.: Shuttle bus from Powell Campus Center to Equestrian Center
9 - 9:45 a.m.: Registration at the Equestrian Center
10 a.m.: Start of the hike
Noon - 4 p.m.: Lunch at Pollywog Holler and shuttles back to Equestrian Center and Campus

The W.I.L.D about Alfred Committee formed in spring 2011 with the mission of making the most of Alfred’s unique physical setting in Western New York. The committee is dedicated to involving AU students and the community in outdoor fun.
