AU runs at state cross country championship meet

CLINTON, NY -- The Alfred University men's and women's cross country teams competed Saturday at the New York State championships meet, held Saturday at Hamilton College. The AU women took 10th and the Alfred men were 12th.

Freshman Mary Baughman (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) was the Alfred women's top runner on the 6-kilometer course, finishing 34th in 24:39.40. Junior Tracie Forfrester (Gainesville, NY/Letchworth) was 53rd (25:57.30) and freshman Emily Poole (Fayetteville, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) was 67th (28:02.70).

Freshman Kevin Dixon (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) was Alfred's top runner on the men's 8-kilometer course, finishing 35th in 28:01.80. Freshman Luke Tesoriero (Homer, NY/Homer) was 62nd (30:24.40) and sophomore Ethan Foster (Bolivar, NY/Bolivar-Richburg) was 66th (30:43.90).

AU is in action next on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Empire 8 Conference championships at Saratoga Springs, NY.
