Alumna’s sculptures reflect on paper mill industry
The De Pree Art Center at Hope College, Holland, MI is displaying work by Sarah Lindley, AU class of 1996, in an exhibition titled “Exiting Allegan” through Friday, Feb. 7.
Sarah is department chair and associate professor of art at Kalamazoo College. She describes her exhibit as being “generated in response to the pull of places, a desire to understand the landscape of my surroundings and that which is concealed beneath the surface.”
The exhibit is comprised of a series of sculptures based on the sediment, floodplains, and paper mill industry along the Kalamazoo River.
