'America's Got Talent' stars to perform acrobatics on Holmes Auditorium stage
In celebration of Black History Month, the Alfred University (AU) Center for Student Involvement will present AUCrobats: Zuzu African Acrobats Fly High at Alfred on Saturday, Feb. 1 in Holmes Auditorium, Harder Hall at 8 p.m. Sponsored by the student group Umoja, the event is free but seating is limited to the first 450 people.
Zuzu African Acrobats, which has performed on the NBC show “America’s Got Talent,” is from Mombasa, Kenya. Members will perform a 45-minute choreographed routine embodying the rich cultural history of East Africa. The show includes fast pyramid building, limbo, contortion, bottle balancing, tumbling, chair stacks and balancing, and a pole act.
Three of the five members who will be performing were semi-finalists in the 2011 “America’s Got Talent” shows. At that time the group performed as Zuma Zuma.
