Alumnus publishes book on Judas
Bill Brison, AU Class of 1951, recently published “Judas Beloved Disciple,” a book which examines the story of the disciple Judas in the New Testament of the Bible. Bill’s book suggests that common interpretations of Judas’s story of betrayal misjudge and mislabel him unfairly.
“Bill Brison’s book on Judas brings to bear on this deepest enigma of the New Testament story, with both a sharp academic skill and a bold imagination,” Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, said. “He makes us read the texts in a fresh and very challenging way.”
The book is available in paperback and as an e-book.
Bill, who has been a priest since 1957, currently resides in England, where he has served three parishes in the Church of England since 1972. He is also the co-author of “A Tale of Two Visits to Chechnya.”
