Long-time vocal professor Paul Giles dies

Paul D. Giles, associate professor emeritus of vocal music and director of the Alfred University (AU) Chorale, died March 4 in Canandaigua, NY. Professor Giles retired from the University Dec. 31, 1992, concluding 30 years of service.

There will be a memorial service for Professor Giles on Saturday, March 8, at 1 p.m. in the Life Spring Community Church, 5026 North Road, Canandaigua. Arrangements are being made through the Fuller Funeral Home, Canandaigua. A full obituary will be disseminated when it is available.

Professor Giles is survived by his wife, Betty, a long-time music instructor at the University, a son, and a daughter. Cards and letters of condolence may be sent to Betty Giles, at 5152 Overlook Lane, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
