Alumnus provides look at nanotechnology
The Utica (NY) Observer-Dispatch recently published a guest commentary by L. David Pye, dean and professor of glass science emeritus at AU and a member of the Class of 1959, regarding the future of nanotechnology within the state.
“Nanotechnology has emerged during the last few decades as the overarching focus of how materials are fabricated, characterized and used. The ability to control the composition, chemical state and structure of materials at the atomic level, i.e., the nanoscale, has taken on the aura of a new scientific paradigm with far-reaching effects in education, research, manufacturing and governmental policy,” begins David.
