Fine arts seniors get ready for shows
Visitors from throughout Western New York and beyond are invited to Alfred University (AU) on Saturday, May 10 for the opening of the annual Senior Shows from 4-7 p.m.
Exhibits and displays will be found throughout Binns-Merrill and Harder halls on campus, and The Cohen Gallery at 55 N. Main St., Alfred. Guides to the various locations will be available in Harder Hall. The event is free and open to all.
Senior Shows contain the work by more than 100 graduating seniors from the bachelor of fine arts degree program in the from the School of Art and Design. The presentation is a requirement for these candidates’ graduation and their displays have become a major attraction for art lovers drawn to Alfred for the opportunity to see work by some of the country’s most promising young artists.
The artwork will include painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, electronic arts, graphic design, ceramics, glass art, and sculpture in various media including metal, wood, and paper.
