Alumnus/author to speak at Silver Lake Institute
7/23/14

Author and Rochester native Spencer Rhys Hughes, AU Class of 2009, will speak as part of the Stoody Hall Literary Series Saturday, July 26 at 8 p.m. at the Silver Lake Institute, Perry. Spencer’s editor, Rochesterian Joshua Quivey, also will discuss the editing process of a first novel. Hughes will read a selection from the book.

Hughes moved to New York City following graduation.  His debut novel, “No Reflection,” is a story set in modern-day New York about the horrors of our contemporary world and the sanctuaries we can find within it.

“I have a profound love of horror and science fiction,” says Hughes.

The author’s visit is funded by Poets & Writers, Inc., through a grant program. There is no cost to attend.

Stoody Hall is located at 20 Embury Ave.  For more information, email silverlakearts@gmail.com
