Dr. Robert Johnson '68 delivers keynote address as Alfred University celebrates 187th Commencement

Alfred University alumnus Dr. Robert L. Johnson delivered Saturday’s keynote address at the University’s 187th Commencement. He told graduates that while their time at Alfred has instilled in them goals and prepared them for success, they will face challenges that will come from serendipitous turns in their life’s journey.

Alfred University, Medaille University approve ‘teach-out’ agreement

Medaille University’s Board of Trustees voted on Monday, May 15, to close the university, effective Aug. 31, 2023. Under an agreement between Alfred University and Medaille, students at Medaille will have the opportunity to complete their programs of study at Alfred.

Construction of a tiny house, begun six years ago as a capstone project for three Alfred University renewable energy engineering majors, has drawn the attention of a national organization that advocates for sustainable living.

Alfred University celebrates tradition of mentorship

At Thursday evening’s Board of Trustees dinner, Alfred University celebrated its longstanding tradition of mentorship. A group of seniors who would graduate during commencement exercise on Saturday spoke about members of the University community to whom they attributed much of their success.

Tour de Alf 2023: Reunion Bikers’ trip to Alfred University draws near

After much discussion, debate, backroom horse trading, and some arm twisting the Alfred University “reunion bikers” were able to come up with this year’s theme name for their week-long bike ride back to campus. The winner is “Tour de Alf 2023”. Organizers of the ride credit Dave Perry ’61 for his hard work and sage guidance in advising the group during the naming process.
