Glass science professor Wilkinson appears on ACerS ‘Ceramic Tech Chat’

Collin Wilkinson, assistant professor of glass science in Alfred University’s Inamori School of Engineering, participated in a recent episode of the American Ceramic Society’s (ACerS) “Ceramic Tech Chat.”


In Ceramic Tech Chat, ACerS members talk about their personal, professional, and scientific discoveries in the fields of engineered ceramic and glass materials. In the Wednesday, Aug. 21, episode, Wilkinson discussed the challenges and solutions to problems involving glass recycling.

Wilkinson, as director of Alfred University’s Center for Glass Innovation, is leading efforts to research ways to reuse and recycle glass. The program is supported by more than $4 million in funding from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Environmental Protection Fund.
