Careers and Internships

At Alfred University, we firmly believe that a well-rounded education can't be obtained by simply sitting through lectures semester after semester. It's more about approaching your education holistically. It's about getting that real-world, hands-on experience now. It's about studying AND working in your field. That's why we've developed a suite of career advising services available through the Robert R. McComsey Career Development Center at Alfred University.

Career Counseling

The Career Development Center staff welcomes any questions you might have about your career or life planning. Topics appropriate for career counseling include, but are not limited to:

  • What do I want to do with my life?
  • Which major should I select?
  • What can I do with my major?

Internships & Co-Ops

Internships and co-ops are excellent opportunities for qualified students to gain professional experience. The Career Development Center is the place to start your search for requirements, deadlines, time lines, and available openings.
