Research, Publications, & Presentations

Research & Publications

  • Defibrillator Materials --corporate sponsored 2004-2007
  • Reuse of Lead-containing Dielectric Material--corporate sponsored 2004-2006
  • Actuators for Space Applications--various 2000-2004
  • Harmonic Analysis of Electromechanical Response--various 1998-2007

Areas of Concentration

  • My group emphasizes electronic ceramics and composites for electrical, electronic, electromechanical applications. Many of the ceramics are ferroelectric perovskites with significant uses in sensors, actuators, and capacitors. Primary efforts are in : proof of principle, aid to industry, new materials development, and waste reduction. Unique aspects of our work involve extreme environments -- to 4K and above 300°C for electronic use and in situ integrated characterization of properties under actual working conditions.
