Upcoming Changes to the Storage of AU Zoom Recordings

Information Technology Services is pleased to continue offering Zoom to the campus community. In order to ensure the quality and availability of this service, AU routinely deletes old recordings from our instance of Zoom. This is scheduled twice per year, in the winter and summer. All recordings made prior to May 10, 2024 will be deleted on July 1, 2024. Users are encouraged to examine their recordings and download any items that need to be saved. This routine maintenance will allow us to continue to provide Zoom for classes and meetings. Any questions on this matter can be directed to the ITS Helpdesk. Thank you for your cooperation.

Campus-wide Shred Event

The Office of Procurement Services is sponsoring a summer shredding event to be held on Tuesday, July 9th. The Shred-It truck will be parked in the Jordan Hall lot from 8am until 12pm. If you would like to take advantage of this event, please deliver your materials to the Jordan Hall lot no later than 11:30am that morning.

Physical Plant will be able to assist offices that have several boxes of materials to be destroyed. Simply put in a work order no later than June 28th and they will make sure your materials are taken down to the site. Please be respectful of Physical Plant's time and resources and only place work orders if you have large quantities of materials to shred.

Here are some guidelines for the event: Documents must be sensitive in nature. If they are not, then they do not require shredding and should be recycled. Materials must be removed from binders and folders. Materials may be stapled, but any binder clips, coils, etc. must be removed. If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact the Procurement Office at x2698.

Juneteenth Holiday

Payroll #14 Timesheet (Juneteenth)

Please note that Alfred University will be observing Juneteenth on Wednesday June 19th. This is a paid holiday for all eligible employees and falls on the #14 pay period (6/9/24-6/22/24). Please be mindful to not copy and paste your hours on this timesheet and code that you worked on 6/19 when you took Holiday time.

Supervisors should review all employees' timesheets individually, for accuracy, please do not just select approve all.

How to enter Holiday time on timesheets:

Under the Holiday slot on your timesheet, enter the required hours per day by either entering 7, 7.5, or 8 hours depending on your job classification and accrued leave time.

For hourly employees who will be required to work on the holiday, you will enter the hours you worked along with entering your holiday time (you will have a total of 2 entries for the day you worked on the holiday). Only essential staff, deemed necessary, and who have prior approval by their supervisor to work will have coded worked hours over the holiday.

Summer & student workers do not qualify for holiday pay. Temporary employees should code 4 hours of Holiday on their timesheet for 6/19/24.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to payroll@alfred.edu

Please avoid blocking roll off dumpsters that are on site for the project, and plan to park behind Cannon, Barressi and near McMahon to avoid the staging area of the roof project.
