Graduate Cost of Attendance
For the college programs leading to the degree of Master of Arts/Certificate of Advanced Study, and Doctor of Psychology in School Psychology; Master of Science in Education/Certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling, Masters Degree in College of Student Development; and Master of Business Administration, full-time tuition (12-18 credits per semester) is $38,020 for the 2017-18 academic year.
For the college programs leading to the degree of Master of Fine Arts; Master of Science in Engineering; and Doctor of Philosophy in Ceramics, Glass Science, or Materials Science and Engineering, full-time tuition (12-18 hours per semester) is $22,520 for the 2017-18 academic year.
Full-time students are eligible for research, teaching or general graduate assistantships awarded by the academic departments. There is no separate application for departmental assistantship positions.

Part-time graduate students, enrolled for fewer than 12 credit hours, are billed at a part-time instruction rate.
For 2017-18, the student service fee is $990 per year for full-time students and student service fee for part-time students is $84 per semester. The student service fee supports student activities and organizations and subsidizes the campus health care center.
Alfred University provides a house for graduate students interested in University housing. Many graduate students live off-campus.
The average off-campus living cost is $12,272 per year.
Students living off-campus (not with parents) are provided the above estimated average cost for room and meal plan expense planning and it is used in financial aid budgets.
Off-campus students may choose from several different meal plan options.
Books and Supplies: $1,400 per year or $2,850 minimum per year for Master of Fine Arts students
Personal Expenses: $2,000 per year
Actual expenses for books, supplies, and personal needs may vary widely among students. These expenses will be dependent on life style, personal choice, major, travel distance to school, and other factors.
*Master of Fine Arts students should plan on a minimum of $2,850 for supplies.
