Open Screening

Open Screening is a long-standing tradition in the School of Art & Design that provides a platform to share your video and moving images to the wider community. This semester we will be hosting Open Screening in Holmes Auditorium on October 19 at 7:30pm. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to bring their own time-based media (video/sonic, or both) to screen via a portable hard drive.

Potluck starts at 7:00pm. Screenings will start at 7:30pm.

This is an event open to all Alfred State and Alfred University students, faculty, and staff working across a range of mediums. The goal is to meet other creatives in the community while sharing what each other is working on.

How to Participate:
Anyone may attend, with or without work. If you have digital files ready before the event (preferable), please host them on your preferred cloud service and email the link to Bernard: [email protected], or stop by Bernard’s office in Harder 430 (across from the elevator), or put them on a USB and leave them with the art office—they can be returned at the event. If you do not submit your files before the event, you may bring them on a physical drive, but please arrive early so that we can organize them before we start screening.

Stage-based Work
This can be playing music, interactive artwork, etc. If your work falls into this category, please email Bernard at [email protected] no later than Monday, October 2nd so that we can plan your needs with the auditorium staff.

Potluck!
If you would like to participate in the potluck, please arrive a little early to set up your food outside of the auditorium. Share this with your peers and have fun with it.

Organized by iea Media Tech Bernard Aaron Dolecki, with help from Visiting Video Professor Christopher Allen.
