Susan Rozak BS '86, MS '88

Senior Application Engineer, Saint-Gobain Performance Ceramics and Refractories

Susan Vitch Rozak is a Senior Application Engineer at Saint-Gobain Performance Ceramics and Refractories.  

Susan Rozak received her BS and MS in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University.  During her time at Alfred University (AU), she was a member of many clubs and organizations. She was the president of Theta Chi Sorority. 

After graduating with her MS, Susan joined a start-up company in Boston, Massachusetts working in R&D for 1 year. She was recruited by several AU friends to join Norton Company in Worcester, Massachusetts where she has remained for over 30 years. Norton Company was acquired by Saint-Gobain in 1990. At Saint-Gobain Susan has worked in Applications, Marketing, Product Management, and Manufacturing Engineering. She was able to negotiate 10-years of part-time work while she raised her 3 sons in Massachusetts and return to a full-time job just in time to pay for them to attend college.

Susan has volunteered in her community as:

  • a youth soccer coach
  • a United Way Committee Member
  • a member of The American Ceramic Society in the New England division
  • a secretary of the Medway PTO

As an Alfred University volunteer, Susan has:

  • been a member and past president of the Alumni Council
  • helped with new student recruitment
  • become a founding member of the Judson Leadership Center
  • served as an alumni elected Board of Trustees member. 

Susan currently resides in Medway, Massachusetts with her husband, Jeff, and 3 sons.

Susan earned a bachelor’s degree in ceramic engineering in 1986 and a master’s degree in ceramic engineering in 1988, both from Alfred University.
